Prepping for the New Year

Giulian Bernardes Meier

2021 new year

This year has truly changed us in many ways even during our holidays. What was once a popular holiday for parties, gatherings, and getaways has forced us to skip it or maybe adapt virtually. Still, changes may have happened but this, too, shall pass. For now, how would we prepare for the New Year in this kind of situation?

According to, 7 out of 10 Americans are tossing out their materialistic New Year’s resolutions for the coming year. 71% of the 2,000 respondents will be focusing on learning life skills or practical goals. Instead of losing weight, 62% would rather save money and 50% would rather learn a new skill. Also, 6 out of 10 say that their resolution will be having a more positive outlook on life.

As for Best Life, they found out that it’s a bit opposite with 26% of 1,000 US respondents wanting to lose weight but 23% wanted to save money or get out of debt. 17% want to travel more, 9% want to make new friends, 7% want to get a new job, 7% want to find love, and 3% didn’t plan to make any New Year’s resolutions (assuming remaining 8% means others).

Whatever your plans may be, always ensure to stay safe first and have fun next. Happy Holidays from us here at Plain Los Angeles. Cheers! May a better year befall upon us all in 2021.
